This journal is bound by hand using a fourth century method know as Coptic Binding.
This is an intricate painstakingly beautiful, non-adhesive binding with exposed knotted stitching across an open spine. The cover pages were upcycled from a 1950’s special edition book by Life Magazine.
The book measures 6 x 9 inches and lays flat when open for easy journaling. It consists of five signatures of Canson 70lb, acid free, white drawing paper which is perfect for charcoal, pastel, pencil and pen. Each signature consists of 20 pages blank of each side.
This journal can be used for sketching or writing. This book is not recommended for wet media, it will hold up but the paper will wrinkle. See some of my other listing for journals that are made for wet media if that is a concern.
Small imperfections are a sign of an item being made by hand. Each journal is made with great care and love. Which one calls you?
Your book will ship in a waterproof, padded envelope so it will arrive safely and in perfect condition.
Painted page is just an example of how the journal lays flat and what you can do with it. This journal is completely blank, the art supplies in this picture are not included.
